Walt Balfour, one of our club’s founding members, received his Paul Harris +3 pin on 3/12/2009.“I was very proud to present Walt Balfour with his Paul Harris +3 pin,” Club President Carol Simmons said. “When I think of Rotary, I think of Walt and when I think of Walt, I think of Rotary. He is one of the founding members of Northern Columbia and a Past-President. Walt exemplifies what a Rotarian should strive to become."
“He is always the first one to sign up for any club projects. Whether it is standing in the freezing cold ringing the Salvation Army bell or in the pouring rain selling apples, you will always find Walt there with his wife, Virginia, by his side."
“And Walt is not just involved in Rotary. He and Virginia are very active in their church and doing numerous other good deeds in the community. ‘Service Above Self’ is surely the motto that he lives by.”
